The Department of Internal Medicine is the largest department at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad, currently with more than 80 teachers and associates. The foundations and main guidelines of the Department’s educational process were established by Academician Stanoje Stefanović, who was also the first Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, founded in 1962. Today, the Department of Internal Medicine participates in teaching more than 20 courses across various study programs, in both Serbian and English.
Given the importance of the subject Internal Medicine, the Department strives to follow modern guidelines in the treatment of internal medicine patients and, for that purpose, is preparing a new edition of the Textbook of Internal Medicine.
